Having moved to Orleans from London, ON when he was young (like late 70s/early 80s young), Michael grew up in the Ottawa area, and enjoyed becoming part of the community. Having spent a number of his early professional career operating special needs group homes, and fostering young special needs children, it was an environment that was both challenging and at the same time helped him develop a sense of empathy working with others.

Transitioning to the car business (we know, it was a jump, his mother suggested it to him) in 2001, Michael quickly worked his way up through the ranks, learning all aspects of dealership operations in sales, before embarking on a career in management with Chrysler, BMW, and now his 4 years with Dilawri Mitsubishi. He became known for his ability to work with difficult situations, and helping underperforming dealerships achieve their potential. This is done through a balance of adaptive customer service, balanced with team development with a heavy focus on said customer service, as well as work/life balance for his team. His flexibility allowed him to develop new processes and policies over the years that has improved customer satisfaction across the board.

In his spare time, Michael has been active in the Ottawa, from MC’ing charity events for the Montfort Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Foundation, to participating in polar bear dips to raise money for children’s cancer. Formerly the PA announcer at TD Place for the Ottawa Fury FC, Michael has also done (and continues to do on occasion) PA work at TD Place for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015, as well as Canada Soccer (National Women’s Team), Canada Hockey (National Women’s team), the Ottawa Redblacks and CFL (including Grey Cup events here), Panda Games (UOttawa vs Carleton University football) and the Ottawa 67’s junior hockey. He will also be doing some pre-tournament PA Announcing work for the IIHF World Junior Hockey Tournament this December. If it’s a stadium with thousands of people and millions more watching on TV, Mike is your guy! (Being bilingual in English and French also helps)

With 5 awesome kids, Mike also enjoys traveling with Carolyn (who, let’s face it, is also super awesome), and is in the process of visiting as many Caribbean islands as he can with her, be it by air or cruise ship. With two grown up kids, two in high school (one a cheerleader, and one an up-and-coming jiu-jitsu competitor), and Cameron (aka Captain Autism), there’s rarely a dull moment.
